Tara represents PSD Global on the West Coast of the United States, bringing a strong background in transatlantic and Latin American business development. Her advisory work is focused in the information and communication technology sector. Currently, Tara is both a strategy consultant to firms entering foreign markets and an instructor in international business to MBA and undergraduate business students at City University in Tacoma, Washington.Before moving to the Northwest, Tara Bennett was Associate International Trade Manager with the Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s Northern Virginia office. With the VEDP she provided support through counseling, facilitation of trade shows and missions, and market research for Virginia companies as they expanded into overseas markets. This included advising companies on international marketing and business development strategies, including facilitating introductions to potential clients, partners or resellers.
While actively working with companies in many industries, Tara’s work often concentrated in the Internet and telecommunications sectors; she provided international market research and site selection analysis to these companies interested in opening offices internationally. She also worked with many non-U.S. based companies, planning and facilitating successful inbound trade missions from several Latin American countries to Virginia. Prior to joining the VEDP, Tara spent two and a half years living in Germany where she worked as a Marketing Associate for PSINet, supporting marketing operations in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, and for a time, she handled all German-language sales of the company.Tara holds a BA in International Studies from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri.
